We show the anchor forces & moments report as loads are imposed on the anchor.
We show the restraint forces & moments report as the support is imposing a load on the pipe.
We show the system forces & moments report as resultant of forces and moments keeping the “cut” component in equilibrium (free body diagram).
We show the Spring Hanger report as the support is imposing a load on the pipe.
Of course, one could make the point that the pipe is moving or trying to move therefore the pipe first imposed a load onto the support and the support is imposing a reaction force load on the pipe to get it back to equilibrium and word it that way. Also, think of the “right-hand rule” when looking at moments. One can often identify what is causing a moment by looking at the force loads for the highest load (s).
